Wreaths, Wreaths and more Wreaths

It has been a zoo around here lately.  We have been taking orders and doing fall wreaths for the last month.  People have been placing their Christmas orders since September.  The gang is going out in the hills these next few weeks to get the greenery.  DH has 3 weeks off so we are trying to juggle schedules so Justin can get to soccer and someone is home when he gets home.  My work schedule is crazy.  I am working early morning shifts, day shifts, later shifts..luckily the department closes at 6:30, but I am picking up a lot more hours from the other gals who want days off.  So, I am working a lot of weekends and working my normal days off.  It's nuts.  Justin is at a soccer game today and I still haven't seen him play one.  I am determined to see it before soccer is over.  I've gone to practices but never games.  My work schedule always conflicts.

Trying to keep up with PTA group, Site Council stuff and home stuff and juggling is not my forte' so I am stressed a lot.  I LOVE work.  Love the people I work with..love being with patients again.  This was the best thing I could have done was to get back into a hospital.  It is TINY compared to where I used to work, but it still is a hospital.  I work closely with the surgery department, which is were I worked many years at my last job.  It's so ironic.

Anyway I work today.  Going to update my site a little, as I am reading a new book... FOR REAL!!

Still Alive

Boy, it has been a LONG time since I updated this.  I have been so busy.

Okay, let's see.  J started 1st grade and loves it.  He is doing so well.

I have a job.  It was supposed to be an oncall job, but has turned into a permenant position and I am almost working fulltime.  I have benefits and vacation so it definitely turned into more than I originally wanted, but absolutely LOVE it.  Back in the healthcare profession and didn't realize how much I missed it.  Plus the hospital I work at, I was born at, worked at 20 years ago and now am back.  So there are still people there that I worked with 20 years ago..wild huh.

I am Treasurer of the PTA and belong to the Site Council group at Justin's school.  My choir also started back up on Thursdays so I don't have much time for anything.  I have rejoined my incredible stress/anxiety group and we have formed our own room and some of us talk on the phone daily. It has been so nice to connect with people.  I am so lucky to have decided to go back there.

Well, it is late and I have to get up early so I am going to make this short and I will try to post more regularly!

Wouldn't Want to be a...

Okay, right now I wouldn't want to be a real estate broker.  The market up here has gone down and it is turning into a buyer's market instead of a seller's market.  Although, they keep building new homes and turning empty fields into a row of new homes.  Go figure.

I forgot to tell you that J took some swimming lessons recently and absolutely loved them and he did SO good.  I was so surprised at how fast he picked up stuff.  All the swimming classes are full right now so I have to wait until the end of July to get him in a group class.  He is ready to progress to the next level with just two lessons!  We are going through a little obnoxious stage right now so we are having to deal with a little bit of attitude from the 6 year old squirt, but I think it is just a stage.  I sure hope so.  I couldn't deal with this for very long!

Okay, I am off to go chat with some of my old time friends.  I recently reconnected with them and we have a special chat room.  It has really helped my anxiety and depression.

Everyone have a great weekend!

Serious Stuff

I have a relative who recently went through an addiction treatment center and is doing well so far.  Addiction is such a widespread issue throughout our nation and it is so important that if you think you have an addiction, to get help and treatment.  I watch the TV show Intervention and I am always rooting on the people to get help from their addictions.  Sometimes there is relapse and they go back to treatment, but it is a life long battle.

On a lighter note, for today I think we are going to take Justin to see that new movie Ratatouille.  It looks really cute and he wants to see it.  It is overcast and kind of gloomy, but I did get up early this morning, take my shower, get dressed, fix my hair and put my makeup on.  I haven't done that in weeks.  I have been a bit down and just haven't left the house much.  I figure with my new job starting soon,  I need to get with the program!

Software Opportunities

I don't know much about collaboration software, but I think it is something I need to look into for our small business.  This website I highlighted above has a 30 day free trial of their software and all you have to do is contact and they will set you up.  They have business email which is something that we desperately need.  I just use my own email to filter our small business correspondence.  We just need to climb the ladder a bit and get with the program.  This software promotes better work flow and back end systems.  I need to get up to speed on all this stuff and look into software to improve and streamline our business computer software. We have just the basic stuff.  So, if you have a business, check them out!

Ahhh to Dream

I have never been on a cruise.  Always wanted to go on on, but am 40 years old and haven't met that goal yet.  I just love the whole concept of cruises.  Floating on the ocean in a big luxury ship that has all the 1st class pluses.  24 hour entertainment, food, daycare, dancing, drinking, eating, eating, and eating.  Oh, and don't forget about the pool.  To sit by the pool with a nice cool drink and just float.  One of these days, we are all going to go on a cruise.  We are going to have have to save our pennies, but we will get there one day.  A lot of my friends have been and said that it is an awesome experience and vacation.  To relax without phones or everyday stressor stuff just sounds so soothing.

I'll do it one day!

Bra Talk..not for the shy

So, does anyone own open tip bras?  I think the closest I ever came was to when I was nursing J and had a maternity bra.  I have not thought about purchasing one of these, but they are interesting to look at.  The last bra I purchased was from Lane Bryant and it fit SO good.  Then I bought one off of QVC and it was awful.   It looked like I had pointers for boobs.  Not a good thing.  It is so hard for me to find a comfortable bra.   I wish we had a fitter up here who would fit you.  I know Macy's does, but we don't have a Macy's up here.  Oh well, I will have to keep catalog shopping!

New York New York

I have always wanted to go to NY. I have a couple of friends and one longtime friend who lives on Long Island.   It is my goal that before I die, I see a Broadway play.  I always thought it would be cool to fly to NY and to stay at a New York Bed and Breakfast.  I have been to many states, but not NY.  I am sure I would need my friend to help show me around.  I know my family would like to go too, but I think it would be cool to go alone.  Oh well...I don't have the funds to make this dream come true right now, but one day it will.  One day I will be singing,"It's up to you, NY NY"!!!!!

What a Day

It has been a stressful day today.  First, I decide to work in the office only to discover that my lcd monitor is on the fritz.  After messing around with it for awhile, I finally got it to work.  It is new so I am not even sure I know how to operate it properly.

Then, J didn't want to go to Kiddie Camp today.  He said he would call this week a "wash" and start going again next week.  I hope he hasn't gotten bored already and will go next week because I will be working full-time starting on the 23rd.  I have to do orientation and do my physical before then and then I will be ready.  I am a bit nervous, but also excited about being around other people.  I also need to do some clothes shopping and shoe shopping.  I will have to wear office attire again.

I had to pick up freight today so that was a pain and then I went to the town to run errands.  Basically, I am just in a blah mood today.  Tomorrow, we are taking J to the movies so that will be a fun thing.  We need more fun things!

The Pen Thief

We have a pen thief in our midst.  I think it comes in the form of a 6 year old boy, but I have no real proof of that.   We spend some money buying custom pens for our business, but we never seem to keep them.  We stopped buying those pens and just went for the regular ones you can get at Staples thinking this would solve our pen thief problem.  No such luck.  It is really hard to find a pen in our house and we have bought SO many of them over the years.  It is kind of like the sock in the dryer.   You put two of them in and only one comes out.  Somewhere in this house is going to be this huge stash of pens.  I can feel it.

Ut oh..phone ringing.  Where's a pen!
