I didn't know that there was such a thing as a student loan consolidation, but apparently there are some really good deals out there to help students with their loans.  I had to pay as I went so I wasn't lucky to have this option out there for me.  With these consolidations, you can get better finance rates and better monthly payments.  It definitely sounds like something to check out if you have student loans.  I went to a community college and my parents helped me, but I have friends who are still paying off their loans and will be paying them off for a long time.

In different news, we are having a very lazy Sunday today.  I am catching up on a little bit of work and haven't gotten out of my PJ's.  I need to put some makeup on so I can feel half way human.  I hope everyone is having a great weekend!

I Always Wished

I have always envied my girlfriends that have bathroom vanities.  I think it would be so cool to be able to sit down and put on my makeup or even stand up for that matter.   We have a nice bathroom, but I hate putting my makeup on in there.  DH found me this makeup case where I can see all my makeup at once and I have this lighted mirror which I can put my makeup on when I watch TV in the morning before I get ready to go to work.  However, when I see the vanities on TV or go over to one of my girlfriend's home and see her bathroom vanity, I really get jealous.  Oh well...at least I am lucky to have a bathroom, right?

Wouldn't it be nice!!!

Wouldn't it be so nice to be able to afford to stay in one of those Condo Hotels that are so luxurious and beautiful?  We decided that we would do camping this summer.  We just can't afford to go away and spend a lot of money on road trips, so we are going to plan camping.  We do have to purchase some new camping gear because I haven't been camping in YEARS.  The last time was about 17 years ago.  We are planning on tent camping and already drove around checking out prospective camp sites.  We found one we really like so now all we have to do is to check for availability and book it.  DH will come up on Saturday and we will go up on Friday.  J is so excited about it.  He wanted to stay there when we were checking them out.  He said that we had enough food...gummie bears!  LOL

Wouldn

Missing

You know what is always missing around our house?  Pens.  Just regular ole pens that you write with.  I can't tell you how many times we have needed a pen and can't find one.  Then we have the big search just to find something to write with.  I have even had to stoop as low as to write with crayons!

Well, yesterday we cleaned Justin's room.  We had him pick out toys he wanted to give away or broken toys that we could throw away.  It was amazing some of the stuff that we found in his toy box.  He is a little thief, I tell ya.  We found two boxes of bic pens in his toy boxes.  TWO boxes.  No wonder we never have any pens...our kiddo is hiding them in his toy box!!

So, now he has clean toy boxes and we have something to write with!

Frustrated

I am never going to finish this book that I have on my sidebar as the book I am currently reading.  I am half way through and it has taken forever.  I read 2 whole pages last night and then had to turn off the light.  Usually, I fly through the books, but lately I just haven't had a lot of time or interest to dive into reading. 

Don't worry.  Eventually, that book will change!

Losing Weight! Hard!

We all need that losing weight is really hard.  I have struggled with it over the years and am still struggling with it.  I used to take diet pills long long ago and haven't explored any of the new ones out there now.  I have heard from friends that Phentermine is very promising and worth looking into.  I would have to do some research and ask my physician if she thought it was a good idea.  I would recommend to anyone out there who is considering going on any type of diet pills to check with their physician first.  We all want that magic pill and who knows?  Maybe one day there will be one.  I do know that I could never do the weight loss surgery.  For me, that is just too way over the top and I would be too chicken.  I just need to exercise more and watch what I eat, but it sure is easier said than done!

Saturday Happenings

So, what did you do today?  We attended a memorial service for Justin's teacher and helped clean up at the end of it.  After that, we came home and went into town to buy some dog and cat food.  Now, I don't know about your pets, but our cats have to have premium cat food and our dog has to have Premium dog food.  They have us wrapped right around their fingers and nothing is going to change anytime soon.  After we did our pet chores we came back home and made Sloppy Joes.  We haven't had those in a very long time so that was kind of nice.  I am recording a couple of movies on PPV and DH and I will have an adult night since the kiddo is camping out with Tee Tee tonight. 

Sigh.  Have Gems TV on in the background.  Such beautiful bling!

Chit Chat

One of my girlfriends and I were discussing the ever changing california mortgage rate .  Apparently, it has gone down a little from when we bought the house. Unfortunate for us, but for the new buyers out there, I hope they can secure a half way decent rate. You wouldn't believe what we pay for our mortgage. I don't even believe it. In other news, she told me that she is expecting a baby in the winter! I was so happy for her. Her husband and her have tried for a few years to have a baby with no luck, so this was great news. In other chit chat, I am still busy at the school volunteering for everything under the sun. I will be happy when this school year is over, but a little concerned with what I will do with my time. I am sure I will find something to do around this nutso crazy busy place, but I have really enjoyed my school time. I have made many new friends and have just had a nice year. Despite the sad passing of Mrs. Dean, our Kindy teacher, this has been a pretty good year academic wise. Justin is ready to move onto 1st grade and I am ready to move on with him. Okay, gotta scoot. I have brownies in the oven. YUMMY!

Ever Check Out......

Have you ever checked out Las Vegas Luxury Condos?  Boy, I have and they are right...they sure are luxurious and a little out of my ballpark.  Sigh.  When that ship comes in, right?

Speaking of Las Vegas, we still haven't decided on a vacation spot yet.  AND DH is on vacation like NOW.  So, we are going to have to just do weekend jaunts.  His vacation came up so fast and I am starting a new job, so we won't be going to Las Vegas or Reno or anywhere that takes a little ways to get there.  So, I am thinking of heading south for some sun, a hike in the redwoods, picnics and perhaps the park or zoo or something that J would really enjoy.  Still thinking, but I'd better get my brain in fast gear here!
